About the Role

This role is primarily responsible for conducting on-site building damage assessments and quotes on residential and commercial building insurance claims and overseeing and coordinating building work repair jobs.

Responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

Carry out assessment of damaged properties in line with insurance company policies and relevant Australian standards.
Provide detailed estimates for commercial and residential repairs insurance repairs.
Source quotes ensuring accurate and competitive pricing is achieved.
Build and maintain key external contractor relationships.
Maintain knowledge of building regulations and industry practices
Work in collaboration with other team members to achieve best possible outcomes
Maintain AJ Grant Building’s impeccable reputation for high level of customer service
Ensure all jobs are programmed and completed within set KPI`s
Maintain client and customer satisfaction, adhering to contract requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Utilise the AJ Grant’s BuildPRO system and other programs as necessary (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe) to perform the various aspects of the role
During quiet periods Co-ordinate all approved repairs and building works using preferred trades and contractors
Responsible for project management of the end-to-end repair or building work within budget and completing within repair cycle timeline as per set KPI’s.
Supervise and inspect work to ensure compliance with required WHS legislation.
Conduct periodic quality and WH&S spot checks, and audits on trades
Ensure client and customer are well informed throughout the lifecycle of work as well as regular progress communication.
Perform other reasonable duties as directed by your manager.

Experience, Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
  • WHS White Card or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail while managing high volume
  • Be highly motivated and achieve good results
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Be highly motivated and achieve good results.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a busy and diverse environment
  • Advanced listening and communication skills
  • Trade and/or technical background would be an advantage
  • A broad knowledge of personal insurance and/or domestic building construction and repairs would be an advantage
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Supervisors Licence by relevant state governing body (if applicable)
  • Intermediate skills in Word and Excel and iOS applications
