An exciting opportunity awaits as our client seeks an Asset Operations Manager to join their team. This role involves providing technical and operational support for two existing gas pipeline assets, with potential for expansion into renewables as the portfolio grows.
Reporting directly to the CEO of the assets, the position collaborates within an established team of engineers, addressing a wide spectrum of asset issues. It offers a rare chance to step into a senior leadership role with substantial growth prospects and exposure to the thriving renewables sector.
Qualifications for Success
- Tertiary: Degree qualified in engineering or equivalent (Mechanical)
- Professional: MIEAust with CPEng highly regarded (or equivalent)
- Licences: Driver’s Licence (Class A)
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Extensive mechanical engineering/operations experience in the natural gas sector, preferably in gas transmission.
- Outstanding presentation and influencing abilities, coupled with a robust talent for engaging stakeholders and establishing sustained effective rapport.
- Commercial acumen, contract and project management skills.
- Expertise in maintaining technical compliance within a Safety Case Regime.
- Proficiency in high-risk industry permit-to-work systems.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and achieve positive outcomes through prioritisation.
- Knowledge of asset life maintenance planning, reliability-centered maintenance, total maintenance cost management, and whole-life budgeting.
- A track record of solving complex problems and providing innovative technical solutions.
- Thorough understanding of Australian acts, codes, regulations, and standards with a strong familiarity of AS2885 suite of standards, particularly AS2885 Part 3.
- Knowledge of submarine pipeline systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent computer skills – with the Microsoft Office suite as a minimum along with experience with CMMS, SCADA, and flow modeling software.
