About the role:
An exciting 12 month fixed opportunity has come up to join our Asset Protection team who plays a pivotal role in ensuring works carried out on or near our assets is not only performed safely with no harm coming to associated contractors, public or Water Corporation employees, but also no damage is caused to impacted assets.
This is a busy yet rewarding role that would be well suited to someone with strong work ethic, relevant trade or engineering background, good operational knowledge, excellent communication skills and a passion for safety.
What the role will involve:
· Provision of Asset Protection services to the Region including Asset Protection Risk Assessments (APRA), Clearance to Work (CTW) and Third-Party Access (TPA) assessments
· Provide technical advice to internal and external customers (Shires, Government Agencies, Contractors, Engineering, Plumbing industry partners)
· Responsible for the authorisation of works to occur on or near Water Corporation assets prior to commencement of works
· Build constructive relationships with infrastructure work stakeholders (Shires, government Agencies, Contractors, Engineering) to ensure knowledge and compliance with Corporation Asset Protection Guidelines
· Educate and enhance awareness of CTW/APRA/TPA with contractors and external stakeholders seeking opportunities for improvement and influencing stakeholders to challenge their practices to achieve safer outcomes
Key skills and experience:
· Relevant Tertiary/Trade level qualification or considerable water and wastewater operational experience
· Substantial experience in influencing behavioural changes to achieve safety outcomes
· Knowledge of National Standards and guidelines relating to the design, construction and operation of water, sewerage and drainage infrastructure
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
