Assistant Accountant

About the Company
Based in the northern suburbs, this business is a well-known player within the NFP sector and have a strong commitment to developing a positive and high performing culture as well as being a pillar of hope in the community.  
Due to a restructure, this is a newly created position to assist a team of 3 Accountants, which is being offered on a temporary to permanent basis.

Duties and Responsibilities
  

• Processing month end and general journals
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, invoices and expense reports 
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts
• Provide support to accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Analyse budget variances and review P&L with managers 
• Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes

 
Skills and Experience

• Past experience as an Assistant Accountant or Senior Finance Officer
• Intermediate Excel skills and experience with Microsoft accounting packages high advantageous
• Degree in accounting/finance and working towards CA or CPA
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
