The Rose Hotel – Bottleshop Assistant Manager

The Venue:

The Rose Hotel is relaxed, casual and modern whilst paying tribute to its past and once again finds itself as one of the most unique country pubs in Australia. Casual front-bar, family restaurant serving modern pub-grub, function ballroom, separate motel accommodation and Liquor Barons drive-thru / walk in bottle shop. We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join the team!

The Position:

This person will be well-versed in the following:

  • Managing casual employees
  • Managing the store in the absence of the Bottleshop Manager
  • Opening, closing and operating the store in line with posted hours
  • Assisting the Bottleshop Manager to maximise sales, profitability and highlight opportunities for growth
  • Develop client relationships that will have a direct impact on sales growth
  • Assist with smart ordering procedures, sourcing products from correct suppliers, assuring stock rotation
  • Maintaining high level of store presentation: this includes cleaning the store, stocktake, dusting shelves and replenishing fridges, cool rooms and displays
  • Stock management including the administration of promotions, stocktakes and store orders for stock replenishments.
  • Cash/float handling as needed and directed by the Bottleshop Manager
  • Working with the on-premise management team in any way possible to ensure the guest has the best experience


 About you:

  • Current RSA Certification
  • Experience in liquor retail sales 3 years or more
  • Solid customer service skills adapting to fast drive through service and casual browsing assistance
  • A strong understanding of RSA
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety, including working in busy drive throughs and working around forklifts.
  • Previous experience in managing casual staff around rostered shifts
  • Good POS understanding and strong computer skills
  • Be able to work unsupervised and show initiative
  • Approved manager card WA Liquor control Act 1988 (preferred)
  • Current WA Police Clearance (preferred)
  • Permanent visa holders and Australian residents welcome
