Baiada are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Breeder Manager to support the management of our breeder farms. The successful candidate will assist the Breeder Manager in overseeing all aspects of breeder production, ensuring optimal animal health, welfare, and productivity. In addition, you will:
- Assist the Breeder Manager in overseeing daily farm operations, including flock management, biosecurity measures, and maintenance tasks.
- Support the execution of breeding programs to meet production goals.
- Monitor and analyse production data to ensure optimal flock health and performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations pertaining to animal welfare, health, and safety.
- Aid in training, supervising, and motivating farm staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and nutritionists to maintain and improve flock health.
- Help manage egg collection, handling, and storage processes to ensure quality standards are met.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and a solid understanding of poultry breeding practices, along with:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science and /or related field is preferred along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in poultry breeding or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry, breeding practices, and biosecurity measures.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and support leadership.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Commitment to animal welfare and ethical farming practices.
