We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join the merchandising team. With good all round product knowledge, this is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career within the team.
You will be working with a team who have a passion for the business and our products, and you will be involved in the latest product development and sourcing for the Jaycar Group.
As an Assistant Buyer you will be responsible for:
- Working with the Category Management Team to actively review the competitor market activities to ensure buying activities are achieving the best results.
- Provide planning, administration and support to the Category Managers to assist in the achievement of supplier targets.
- Assist in the preparation of all materials and communication of all information in relation to product opportunities, advertising information, special buys
- Collating orders and following up on deals to ensure commitments are met.
You will need:
- Brand and product analysis and identification skills
- Previous experience in buying or category management or similar role within the retail industry
- Well-developed communication and organisational skills
- The ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Negotiation skills to reach your desired outcome
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong Microsoft office skills and experience
