- Assists the Chief Engineer with the selection and training of maintenance Ambassadors.
- Investigates and recommends sources when purchasing parts and supplies, or any service to be undertaken by contract.
- Checks time sheets for Ambassadors.
- Carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort.
- Prioritise and carry out maintenance as requested by Departments on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running the hotel.
- Record meter readings and liaise with the Chief Engineer regarding options to improve energy management and conservation.
- Be responsible for the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis as required by local Council and Fire Service.
- Liaise with the Chief Engineer regarding use of contractors within the Hotel, ensuring work is to the standard required by the Company and manufacture specifications.
- Monitor the hygienic removal of rubbish from the hotel areas and monitor to ensure areas are clear and free of offensive odour.
- Be available to carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours, as required.
- Maintain records of repair work and daily checks as required by local Council, Government and Manufacturer specifications.
- Liaise closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding ‘down’ rooms to expedite a quick turn around and return to inventory.
- Maintain gym equipment in safe working order according to manufacturer specifications.
- Make recommendations to the Chief Engineer regarding procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department.
- Carry out project work/prepare reports as requested by the Chief Engineer.
- Ensure all Ambassador are competent in the safe and effective use of equipment and chemicals in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- 2-3 Years’ experience in similar role and hotel experience.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Always displays a professional appearance, representing our Sofitel brand.
- Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends, nights and public holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
