Jasper and Myrtle Chocolates is a small family owned business with a strong reputation in the bean to bar chocolate business both nationally and internationally. We are very well known in Canberra for exceptional award winning chocolates and have strong local support across the ACT and Canberra region. Our commitment to product quality and flavour is paramount. Our approach is artisanal - preferring to work in small batches with great attention and dedication to our materials and details. We are now looking for an additional team member who shares our passion and would love to assist in all aspects of production while learning the art of chocolate making.
Qualifications & experience
- Some experience in a food handling business is desired. As bean to bar chocolate making is a specilised field, on the job training will be provided to the selected candidate.
- Experience in food manufacturing and hospitality will be considered positively.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assisting in all aspects of bean to bar chocolate making using state of the art equipment. Duties will cover all aspects of chocolate making from roasting beans through to final product packaging.
- Specific tasks include roasting and winnowing of cocoa beans, pre-refining, grinding of cacao nibs, tempering and finishing (i.e. moulding and packaging) of chocolate products. All processes use state of the art bean to bar chocolate equipment.
- As a food manufacturing business, food safety and cleanliness is paramount. As such, the position will involve significant tidying up and cleaning of equipment to maintain quality of our product.
