Lindfield Activity Centre (LAC) is a community run Outside of School Hours Care Centre situated in the grounds of Lindfield Public School. The service has operated from 1998 and is respected and well established within the local community. Our program provides a range of activities including cooking, craft, indoor and outdoor games and sports.
We are seeking to employ a full time Assistant Coordinator/ Ed Leader.
Hours can be flexible as we operate Before and After School Care as well as Vacation Care programs.
Before School Care operates: 7.15am – 9.15am
After School Care operates: 2.15pm – 6.15.pm
Vacation Care operates: 7.15am – 6.00pm
Job title: Assistant Coordinator/ Educational Leader (OOSH) Outside of School Hours Care
Responsibilities include:
Work closely with the Director in all aspects of the day to day running of the centre.
Assist Director with Vacation Care planning, orders and operation.
Jointly responsible for the program/ menu planning and consequent evaluations and reflections within the role of Educational Leader.
Jointly responsible for the leadership of the Educators on shift as well as being directly engaged with children's activities
Be actively involved in staff meetings and the development and implementation of the Centre's Quality Improvement Plan and Self Assessment.
A willingness and ability to take on the Director's responsibilities when required.
Assist and support the Director to form and maintain partnerships with children, parents, staff and the local community.
Attend meetings and training as required.
Essential:
Cert 4 or Diploma in Outside School Hours Care, Children's Services or a relevant Teaching qualification.
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children – preferably in the 5-12 years age range.
Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Regulation and Law, School Age Care Framework "My Time Our Place" and the National Quality Framework.
Experience in leading and managing staff.
Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to take direction and work as part of a small team.
Completion of a DEC accredited Child Protection Course (or willingness to complete)
Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training, Accredited Child Protection Training (or willingness to complete)
Good Organisational skills.
Good Time Management skills.
Willingness and an ability to learn quickly and take on feedback.
A Working with Children Check Clearance is mandatory for this position.
- Rate of pay: The pay rate will be in accordance with the Children's Services Award depending on experience and qualifications
