About the role
A unique opportunity has arisen within the Mater Mothers Hospital Brisbane for an Assistant Director of Clinical ServicesNeonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine in a full-time, permanent position.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant Director of Clinical Services will provide visible clinical and operational leadership and ensures Neonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine delivers effective, efficient and collaborative high quality evidence based Clinical Services.
What you will be doing
We are looking for a proactive and strategically minded leader who has demonstrated experience in building, leading and motivating diverse and complex teams and services. Whilst also being able to meet the services strategic goals and deliver on operational key performance measures.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Contributing to the overall management and leadership of Neonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine, working collaboratively with the medical directors and other members of the leadership team to support the development of the services.
- Effectively manage and lead teams within the Neonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine, including the development and implementation of effective human resources, financial and performance improvement strategies.
- Assuming financial management accountability for the performance of the Neonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine against budget targets and imperatives.
- Build successful teams by providing encouragement and support in the development of work teams and promoting effective communication within and across teams.
About you
You will be an experienced people leader who is passionate about driving clinical safety and high quality patient centred care. You will be a leader who embraces change and innovation, and you will use practical and evidence-based research to consider new ways of doing things and take a positive and adaptive approach to embedding change.
Other skills and responsibilities include:
- Significant experience in leading large and complex teams, coupled with clinical expertise and the capacity to influence patient centred care.
- Ability to demonstrate strong capability in leading both the clinical, operational and financial aspects of a tertiary service
- AHPRA Nurse registration and a current annual practicing certificate.
- Tertiary qualifications in health management, business or related disciplines
- High quality communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary environment
