A vacancy exists for a Chief Executive Officer / Director Clinical Services to lead and develop Nundah Private Hospital in Brisbane, scheduled to open in October 2024. We are looking for an experienced leader to maximise our service offerings for better patient health outcomes whilst attracting and engaging a high performing skilled workforce. You will be able to influence and shape a strong and positive culture by preparing Nundah Private Hospital for a successful opening, and then drive operational success and growth once trading commences.
Services will include overnight admissions, a day only hospital, group therapy programs and a hospital in the home service model. Visiting Psychiatrists credentialed at the hospital will be supported by a Care Coordinator to support clinical care and continuity across the service streams.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and extensive executive-level experience in hospital management, preferably in the mental health sector. You should hold a tertiary qualification in Health, Business, or Management and have a comprehensive understanding of private health sector regulations, including WHS, clinical, and quality legislation and frameworks. You may be currently working as a Director of Clinical Services with a strong commercial background looking for that next step in your career.
Demonstrable capabilities should include overseeing all clinical aspects of the hospital, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of patient care, supervising and developing clinical staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders, and managing the budget and resources for Clinical Services.
Your role will involve maintaining high-quality, efficient services, delivering patient care, managing critical stakeholders such as VMOs, and overseeing hospital performance. You will also be responsible for evaluating the success of the strategic business plan and budget outcomes and making critical decisions regarding major initiatives such as capital expenditure and core business changes.
A snapshot of your role:
- Drive the hospital's strategic growth through innovation, service delivery and develop our doctor and workforce plans to meet business requirements
- Develop and implement synergies with iMH’s network of hospitals including KPIs, maximising service mix and develop a doctor recruitment strategy, building key relationships with external stakeholders and doctors
- Lead and coach the hospital senior management and clinical teams in strategic planning, business forecasting and service delivery.
- Ensure that all group and hospital policies and procedures are in place and adhered to
- Grow referral and customer markets through engagement, promotion, and strategic partnerships
- Lead the team of health professionals and clinicians to deliver best practice and the highest standards of patient care
- Ensure the appropriate risk, compliance, and governance structures and processes are in place and operating effectively.
- Achieve and exceed overall service budget and relevant service performance objectives.
- Maintain legislative and regulatory compliance including iMH policies, procedures, and hospital By-laws across all aspects of hospital operations.
Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospital management at an executive level
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA and ideally an undergraduate qualification in Health Management or Commerce
- Knowledge of heath funding models and arrangements pertaining to the private or public health sector
- Strong working knowledge of current WHS, Clinical and Quality legislation and frameworks
- Experience in building strong doctor engagement, managing brownfield expansion projects, and business development exposure
