The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Director in the day-to-day running of the program, developing strong, productive relationships with children, families, staff and the community, and supporting the team to provide engaging learning environments that support children to think critically and direct their own learning.
This position is a key member of the CS#1 and Children’s Service leadership groups and will contribute to and enjoy the support of the CEO, Executive Team and CS#1 Program Managers and Service Directors.
The successful applicant has the option to take on the Educational Leader role (which is an additional $2.03 per hour) once they feel comfortable in the environment and undertaking those duties and have been deemed to be competent in the Educational Leader role.
- Full time (76 hours/fortnight)
- Children’s Services Award, Children’s Services Employee Level 5
- Base hourly rate from $32.25/hour, plus 11% superannuation

Other packaging options are also available (eg. superannuation, leasing a car)

Assistant Director requirements:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or ACEQA approved equivalent
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People card
- Current first aid certificate, including asthma and anaphylaxis
- Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Current driver licence and own car (desirable)
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director, or experience leading a team (desirable)
