The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Command Centre, is the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) organisational lead responsible for leading two key HHS functions: 1. Patient flow coordination; and 2. Organisational disaster preparedness and disruption response. The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) Command Centre is the overarching coordination hub for patient flow, organisational disaster preparedness and disruption response for SCHHS facilities. The Command Centre is physically based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) – the hub in a hub and spoke model of service coordination which is responsible for the placement of patients into and from beds (or bed substitutes).

A Nurse Grade 10 is a registered nurse/registered midwife who demonstrates:
- competence in the provision of Nursing/midwifery care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care; and
- advanced clinical management and/or a specified portfolio expertise.
- Leading the SCHHS Disaster Management Governance Framework.
- Leading the SCHHS Patient Flow Governance Framework.
- Leading the SCHHS Emergent Nursing Leave Relief Approach, including permanent and casual nursing pool management.
- Coordinating and supporting the tactical and operational service objectives of the Command Centre, inclusive of the Command Centre Model of Care.
- Providing expertise, leadership and strategic advice in healthcare facility patient flow, organisational disaster preparedness and disruption response, with a focus on building capacity in SCHHS personnel and processes.
