TP Human Capital is currently seeking an Assistant Director – People Servicesfor a temporary 6-month assignment with our government client based in Townsville. Possessing a strong HR background, this position is looking for demonstrated expertise across various HR functions, providing strategic support to senior management, overseeing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, HR compliance, and HR projects.
Responsibilities:
- Apply up-to-date HR practices to support within a dynamic work environment.
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Manage project lifecycles including planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and supplier management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand evolving perspectives.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Review and update policies, procedures, and processes as needed.
- Prepare high-quality written briefs, communications, and project updates.
- Efficiently manage resources, including staffing and procurement, within budget constraints.
- Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the HR team.
Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and systems.
Desirable Qualifications or Experience:
- Formal qualifications in Human Resources or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR-related role.
- Project management certification or experience.
- Familiarity with HRIS, recruitment/onboarding platforms, and policy development/ implementation.
- Experience in key HR functional areas such as Recruitment, Learning and Development, Payroll, Employee Relations, or Project Management.
