Assistant Family Store Manager

Corps is a community-focused church, partnering with the wider community to help transform one life at a time with the love of Jesus. This is achieved through Community Support and Emergency Relief and Thrift Shop engagement.

We are seeking a values-driven Assistant Store Manager who will be assisting the Store Manager to provide supervision of the daily recycling, retail and administrative functions of the Family Store, in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) mission and values. Contribute to the store's success as a source of recurrent income to support Corps and other social activities.

• Assist in the daily operations of the Family Store and ensure that it is operating at an optimum level, including retail space preparation, stock rotation, ensuring pricing policies are adhered to, cleanliness of the store, point of sale service, truck calendars, data input, cash register operations, cash handling procedures, and customer service enquiries.
• Opening & closing the store and balancing the cash registers at the end of the day as required.
• Prepare petty cash reports as required.
• Assist with the processing of all donations as required.
• Assist Store Manager to ensure effective marketing of goods for sale; maintain the appropriate visual standards of the Store ensuring the store is merchandised and displayed in a tidy manner.

• 3 years' experience in retail and/or customer service desirable.
• 1 years' experience in mentoring / training staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake.
• Proficient in POS systems, Microsoft Office, as well as a willingness to learn and utilise other systems
• Must be willing to work Saturdays as roster dictates.
• Current valid driver's licence.
• First aid certificate or willingness to uphold one.
• Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness to carry out the duties of this position.

This is a permanent, part-time (30.4hrs per week) position located in Caloundra West, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 4.
