The Role
The position requires the employee to undertake activities for which they have the legal authority and competence to perform. The person performing the delegated activity is accountable for his or her own actions and to the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) and Registered Nurse (RN). Supervision means the direction and guidance given by a RN to an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). The supervision may be direct or indirect according to the nature of the work delegated to the AIN. The position holder will work within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (the Network) and Ministry of Health policies, procedures and guidelines as well as Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) & Youth Justice rules and regulations as set out in the relevant legislation.

The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic Mental Health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing a care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

Salary & Benefits
Your salary $$50,336.67 - $55,225.80 p.a (Pro-rata for Part time/Casual) plus superannuation is just the beginning.

- Currently undertaking and has completed one or more years of a nursing degree and/or has a Certificate 3 in Assistant in Nursing.
2. Demonstrated excellent communication skills - both in spoken and written language and knowledge of and use of computer software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.
3. Exhibits strong interest and ability to empathise with Mental Health patients and a capacity to relate to patients in a non-judgemental and compassionate manner
4. Demonstrates the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines either independently or as part of a team.
5. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values of the Network
