The Museum presents unique experiences for over 2 million visitors each year.With interactive displays, immersive experiences and engaging programs, Melbourne Museum offer visitors of all ages to explore and connect with the world around them.ABOUT THE POSITION:As the Assistant Manager Visitor Engagement, you will play a vital role in leading and directing the daily operations of the Visitor Engagement team.Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure exceptional customer service through supporting and developing guidelines and policies that enhance team culture and capability.You will be responsible for supporting daily operations by:

• Identifying opportunities to enhance the delivery of the Customer Experience
• Collaborating with the Manager of Museum Operations to provide coaching and mentoring to team members to support the development of a high performing work culture
• Assisting in organising and delivering staff induction and training programs to support ongoing growth and development
• Identifying opportunities to support the development of individuals personally and professionally and actions to enhance the team’s capability, performance and overall culture
• Ensuring compliance with Museum Victoria's policies, procedures and relevant legislations

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Demonstrated experience in leading a customer-focused team, including development and training of staff
• Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service, including the ability to adapt and respond to unexpected conditions
• Demonstrated experience in performing administrative tasks to a high standard, such as rostering staff, supporting developing operational guidelines
• Strong understanding of the role Visitor Engagement staff can play in enhancing the museum experience and possesses the ability to develop this skill/ understanding in the team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• The successful applicant is required to undergo a Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost)

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a Grade 3; Value Range 1 position. The salary on offer ranges between $74,580-$82,571 per annum + 11% superannuation.
