Position Information
Railway Town Public School is located in Broken Hill in the Far West of NSW. Our school is a Kindergarten to Year 6 school with an enrolment number of 115 students. 30% of our students identify as First Nation. Our school currently has 6 mainstream classes from K-6 and one multi-categorical class. Our small school community is a welcoming and well-connected team with numerous opportunities for growth and development in a supportive and friendly environment.

All staff are dedicated to improving student outcomes through quality learning programs in literacy and numeracy as well as using innovative and inclusive programs outside of the classroom learning space. Our students are given the opportunity to participate in Aboriginal language, environmental Green Team, STEM, and sporting events. We are in close partnerships with the surrounding schools.

Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
1. Evidence of highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work in collaborative teams and build relationships while balancing the dual roles of an exemplary classroom teacher and Assistant Principal in a small school.
2. Ability to lead and build the capacity of a diverse range of teachers within a culture of continuous improvement, in order to guide and inform the implementation of evidence-based practice and high-quality, differentiated teaching.
3. Demonstrated commitment to strengthen and sustain initiatives and processes that support student wellbeing to meet students' social and emotional needs through the implementation of whole-school practices
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

A Relocation of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
