CPC Services (NQ) Pty Ltd trading as Coral Expeditions is Australia’s pioneering cruise line, specialising in a unique style of immersive adventures by small expedition ship. With humble beginnings hosting cruises on the Great Barrier Reef, the company has grown into a borderless fleet of three ships carrying between 72 and 120 guests. For four decades, Coral Expeditions has operated with a single purpose – to take small groups of likeminded explorers to remote places with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality. In 2023, we have returned to international sailings including New Zealand, Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Islands of Indonesia.

The Role
The role of Assistant Purser is to provide outstanding customer service in the area of food and beverage and are responsible for maintaining the highest standard through our ships accommodation, whilst providing support to the Purser and Hospitality team.
Responsibilities include
- Assist supervising Chefs, Pursers, Senior Cruise Attendants & Cruise Attendants.
- Provide support in the training of new crew in line with Coral Expeditions Manuals and Coral Expeditions Standards.
- Ensuring in the absence of the Purser that all of the duties performed by hospitality are performed to the standards required.
- Lead by example showing an understanding of duties, policies and procedures.
- Planning, assigning, supervising and directing work.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems with the Purser’s awareness.
- Monitor and encourage the highest standards of behaviour and self-discipline appropriate to company policy and image amongst crew.

To undertake the role, the Qualifications required are
- Certificate 2 in hospitality operations preferred
- Remote First Aid & Advanced CPR
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- RMLV
- Passport

- AMSA endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST)
- Crowd Control & Crisis Management
- AMSA Medical
- MSIC Card
- Australian Seafarers book or other country equivalent discharge book.
