Assistant Storeperson - Entry Level

Welding Equipment Sales and Service (WESS) is the largest independent welding distribution business in South Australia and are 100% Australian owned.  We specialise in everything related to cutting/welding and metal fabrication and are the leading provider in welding equipment repair, maintenance and hire services. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Storeperson. This is a full time, entry-level position, providing an excellent opportunity for career growth and development within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing inventory in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Prepare and complete customer orders for delivery or pickup, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse or store area.
• Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and enhance overall efficiency.
• Uphold safety standards and follow proper handling procedures for materials and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal teams and external partners.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; we provide on-the-job training.
• Must be prepared to obtain a forklift licence (we will pay for this).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems (training will be provided).
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Self motivated, able to work independently when required and willing to learn and take instruction.
