About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Full-Time Assistant Team Leader to join our amazing Support Worker team at our Lower Hunter sites, Maitland and Beresfield.
This position is an excellent opportunity to build your knowledge in the Aged Care and NDIS sectors, while supporting motivated teams of Support Workers and Trainees.
This position will regularly interact with and support staff, volunteers, and brokerage providers to:
Assist the Support Worker Team Leaders in regularly managing the Support Worker Team.
Assist with inductions, ongoing training, coaching and mentoring support worker staff.
Ensuring Support Worker morale remains high by monitoring job satisfaction and engagement
Ensuring location-based or team work goals and objectives are met
Signing off and monitoring of staff competencies prior to shift allocation
Provide advice, information and guidance to assist staff in delivering a high quality service for clients
Assist in the management of regular and ongoing team meetings
Monitor Support Worker job advertisements for new candidates and shortlisting preferred candidates
Assist with recruitment, interviews and onboarding of all Support Worker roles.
About you
Candidates must have a Certificate IV in Individual Support and/or Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
Together with:
Knowledge of Consumer Directed Care, NDIS and Home Care Guidelines;
Ability to coach, mentor and support staff
Experience in Team Leadership
Administration skills
Understanding of relevant aged, disability, and community care sector legislation, standards and guidelines.
Previous experience working with older people and people who live with disability;
Current First Aid certification.
Current NSW Driver Licence and a safe driving record;
Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccinations (primary vaccination course, plus one booster).
A strong work ethic, integrity and stakeholder focus;
Please note that the successful candidate must provide a NDIS Worker Check. The criminal offences that preclude a person from working in aged care are; a conviction for murder or sexual assault or a conviction of, and sentenced to imprisonment for, any other form of assault.
