The purpose of Multicultural NSW is to build and maintain a cohesive and harmonious multicultural society that enriches the lives of all the people of NSW. About the role
The primary purpose of the role is to lead and manage a team that plays an integral role in providing proactive community engagement strategy advice, planning and implementation of local and state-wide engagement mechanisms.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for policy development, key projects and activities involving community engagement, in line with MNSW Strategic Plan
- Facilitate collaboration and dialogue across and between government agencies and communities on relevant issues.
- Gather information and community insights while responding to emerging community issues,
- Identify and deploy technological solutions to community engagement needs, including digital and social media engagement methods to collect and analyse community sentiment data.
- Develop and implement proactive and responsive community engagement strategies, programs and mechanisms that address both systemic and emerging community issues
- Build sector capability by advising and assisting government agencies to develop good practice and strategies for multicultural community engagement.
- Oversee the management of the Regional Engagement Program across the state of NSW.
- Maintain and develop a consistent community engagement program to ensure Multicultural NSW is kept abreast of changing community priorities and needs.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications in strategic community engagement, policy, and program development
- Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive community issues
- Familiarity with using digital and social media platforms and community sentiment software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Multicultural NSW legislative framework
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing people.
It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
