What you'll be doingThe primary purpose of this role at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead will be the performance of diagnostic procedures in virology, serology and molecular diagnostics as well as production and molecular characterization of adeno-associated viral vector stocks and development of new serological assays.
The role will also be responsible for maintaining the quality and technical management systems of the laboratory to standards required by NATA and NPAAC.
- Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Willingness to work with infectious material
- Demonstrated experience working in the field of serology and molecular biology.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and interact with other laboratory teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to further education and professional development
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for diagnostic laboratory practice e.g. ISO 15189 and applicable NPAAC Standards
