These achievements, when complemented with our globally renowned trade finance, transactional banking and markets capabilities, ensure that HSBC is poised for further acceleration in the corporate space.With HSBC’s International Subsidiary Banking team, you will be joining a business that provides a gateway to HSBC’s global network, providing the opportunity to build strong relationships with our international stakeholders and clients across key corridors of the US, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.Joining the team as an Associate within our Perth office, you will partner with a Relationship Manager to drive account management strategies targeted at delivering outstanding client service, executing transactions for existing and new to HSBC clients, effecting global product mandates, and maintaining responsibility for day-to-day portfolio activities.Putting your credit analysis skills to good use, this is a rare opportunity in the Perth market to have exposure to a variety of complex banking solutions across a diverse range of industries. You will be joining our team at an exciting time of growth, in an international banking environment. This role would best suit an individual passionate about a career in Commercial Banking, keen to develop into a Relationship Manager over time.Your main responsibilities will include assisting the Relationship Manager to:
  • Engage with multiple touchpoints within both our existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank’s solutions accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of our clients’ industries and associated markets, including both local and global dynamics.
  • Work with a range of global product specialists including, among others, Leveraged and Syndicated Finance, Global Markets, Trade & Receivables Finance, Liquidity & Cash Management, and Private Banking.
  • Undertake credit evaluation (new submissions, annual reviews) on our client set, including analysis of complex financial information and timely and accurate preparation of high-quality credit applications for general corporate and structured lending scenarios.
  • Ensure strong adherence to credit policies (including ongoing monitoring of clients), financial crime compliance and regulatory compliance.
  • Support with instructing, negotiating and executing of client facility documentation requirements, working in with internal and external legal counsel as required.
  • Take responsibility for day-to-day portfolio requirements, including dealing with client queries and the liaison with internal teams both locally and offshore to deliver high customer service levels to our clients.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in other departments and countries, in particular Global Relationship Managers based in Australia’s key trading partner countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East).
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Experience in a corporate / institutional finance setting (including credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank), with a fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties with a genuine desire to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Proven In-depth analytical skills and capability in writing comprehensive yet concise quality credit papers, with a high degree of accuracy under transaction deadlines including strength in financial modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Strong familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists and credit risk personnel.
  • High levels of self-motivation, commitment and a desire to succeed.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines - related post graduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.
