About the role
My client experienced Human Resources professional to fill the role of Assistant Director in the People Services Section.The EL1 HR Policy Writer will lead, guide, and manage HR policy development and advice, industrial relations and consultation, recruitment, and the implementation of workforce planning frameworks. You will provide reports and expert advice to staff, management, executive and committees.This role has the possibly of permanency through a subsequent recruitment round.Key Accountabilities will include:
  • Creating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating human resource frameworks, strategies, policies, plans and procedures to meet organisational needs.
  • Workplace relations advice as it relates to the agency's enterprise agreement and its implementation, enterprise bargaining and engaging with associated stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Providing accurate and timely HR reports and HR policy advice to enable employment decisions.
  • Contributing to recruitment, selection, induction, engagement and separation policies and practices and supporting recruitment panels as required.
  • As the custodian of the workforce plan - develop and implement evidence-based workforce planning frameworks and supporting strategies by undertaking objective and systematic workforce analysis in line with Australian and International standards, and best practice models.
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals.
About you
You will use your strong research and analytical skills to identify workforce capability gaps and provide input into job design, employment frameworks, recruitment strategies, strategic planning and HR policies and procedures.To be successful you will need:
  • You're a strong Human Resources Generalist with sound knowledge of Industrial Relations policy
  • Proven background in Human Resources Policy Writing.
  • Relevant experience in an Australian Public Sector context.
