Job Description:How will I help?You will join the relationship management team within Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division sitting within the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB). You will be part of the dedicated
Mining & Metals team that has responsibility for the coverage and management of clients within the mining, metals, mining services and commodity trading companies right across the globe.Reporting to the Head of
Mining & Metals, this role will provide a successful candidate with a great opportunity to provide key sales support directly to relationship managers within the
Mining & Metals team by embedding yourself in key sales activities and fully understanding and supporting delivery into the end-to-end sales process. This is a unique opportunity to obtain broad product, business and credit knowledge and relationship management skills, working with some of the best people in the industry.
You will:- Working with the Head of Mining & Metals, provide internal support for the development of new business and strategic initiatives, through general awareness of industry and business priorities, including related research and analysis.
- Internal coordination of the professional delivery of tailored sales, financial and transactional solutions, Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Expressions of Interest (EOI) for customers.
- Support relationship managers in the development of customer relationships from an internal support perspective.
- Prepare and coordinate pricing approvals using systems including DealPoint, Credit Connect and Qlikview systems.
- Manage hygiene reporting pertaining to upcoming facility maturities and legal documents.
- Build a strong internal network through collaborating with various product partners and stakeholders across the business.
- Prepare monthly management reporting and ad hoc revenue reporting, forecasts as well as following up on revenue anomalies within reports with Finance and respective industry or product colleagues.

What do I need?Whilst this is a developmental role, you will ideally have experience working in corporate finance and have experience with stakeholder management and engagement. You will have the ability to read and understand financial analysis and will bring a strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset and will be able to communicate complex ideas and problems clearly and efficiently.Some further advantageous skills:
- Understanding of the financial services industry, and suitable competitors and customers.
- Proficiency with core MS Office programs (especially MS Excel, PowerPoint)
- The ability to think strategically to ensure customer needs are prioritised and delivered professionally.
- Tertiary qualification in a Mining-related discipline (Geology, Mining Engineering) or a Business-related discipline (Economics, Accounting, Finance) is highly regarded.
