Department of Health (DoH) are seeking suitably qualified candidates for the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join the team at the Royal Hobart Hospital Short Stay Suite.
The Role:
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who,
- Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
- Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.
The ANUMs in the Short Stay Suite also take on a Co-Ordinator role along with the roles in the ANUM statement of duties.

The Team
The Short Stay Suite is a diverse unit encompassing Day of Surgery Admissions, Holding Bay, Short Stay Surgical Overnight, Short Stay Day Surgery and a stand-alone endoscopy unit including procedural rooms and recovery.
Details of Appointment
Fixed term, full and part time, shift-worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, for a period of 12 months.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

- Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
