The role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:

  • Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.
  • Assist the NUM with the day to day management and coordination of resources to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Coordinate patient/client centred care delivery and flow.
  • Ensure the maintenance of effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to promote patient/client care delivery.
  • Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures to promote a patient focused model of care according to best practice principles.

The team: Millbrook Rise Centre

  • Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed facility which includes the only statewide civil secure unit, we are a consumer-focused service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley.
  • New Norfolk is a picturesque 35-minute drive up the river Derwent from Hobart with free parking on site.  The Derwent Valley is the gateway to some of Tasmania's sought after experiences such as wineries, beautiful waterfalls, ski fields and the popular Maydena Mountain Bike Park. 
  • Be part of a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey. We have a constantly developing activities program and we welcome new staff and new ideas to contribute to the activities program at the site.  

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
  • You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum (for over 30.4 hours, $125 for under)

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  2. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
  3. Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
