Your Impact
We have exciting opportunities to join our fast-growing Water Infrastructure team. As a result of our exciting pipeline of work, delivering some of the most sought-after water infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand, we are looking to appoint two experienced Wastewater Process Engineers. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated, experienced and globally connected process team.
Our process team works across a range of embedded water utility programs, standalone local projects, and major national infrastructure projects, covering all delivery phases from up-front strategic planning through to detailed design, services during construction and commissioning. These projects are leveraging our local and global experience to protect and improve the local environments in which they are located, providing the best value to the communities in which we live and work. Our local team has a national reputation for excellence in process design, and a common vision to make our world smarter, more connected and more sustainable.
While these roles are based in our Brisbane team, you will work locally, nationally and globally, helping our valued clients solve the most complex problems in the wastewater industry. Our Market Solutions framework provides access to technical communities of practice and mentoring from our key specialists and global technology leaders. We will provide you with ongoing development opportunities on cutting edge and innovative projects - where you take those opportunities is up to you!

You'll be responsible for:
· Process design of small to large scale projects in the wastewater industry encompassing aspects of all delivery phases from planning through to commissioning across both existing infrastructure upgrades, and development of greenfield sites.
· Delivering technically excellent Process Engineering designs and consultancy services,
· Assisting with driving business development and being responsible for winning work, identifying opportunities and supporting the wider team for successful delivery.
· Assisting with bid preparation and submittals.
· Developing and maintaining strong key client relationships - acting as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector.
· Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of junior Process Engineers.
· Promoting a safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.
Here's What You'll Need:
· Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering (Environmental Engineering would also be considered).
· Registration as a Professional Engineer QLD, or the ability to successfully apply within 6 months of appointment to the role.
· Prior consulting experience, or experience demonstrating an ability to work within a challenging consulting environment.
· Significant project planning and design experience across the full project lifecycle.
· Solid technical experience in the process design of wastewater treatment plants including biological nutrient removal processes, chemical treatment processes, biosolids treatment, energy and resource recovery, and process controls and instrumentation.
· Experience in modelling wastewater treatment processes using process simulation tools such as BioWin, SUMO and others.
· A strategic mindset, with experience integrating complex systems into options and solution development (such as wastewater treatment, biosolids management, and receiving environments) - with a strong focus on customer and environmental outcomes.
· Experience/capability across core Process Engineering skills such as:
o Adaptive system planning, master planning, and strategy development
o Feasibility study development, options analysis and selection
o Concept and detailed design documentation development and specification
o Data analysis
o Mass and energy balances and process flow diagrams, and P&ID development
o Wastewater treatment process calculations and specifications
o Analysis of risks and opportunities for both Jacobs and the Client.
· Problem definition skills, applying critical thinking to understanding the cause, magnitude and impact of engineering problems.
· A collaborative mindset that values and acts on the input of a wide range of stakeholders to deliver the best project outcomes (e.g. other engineering disciplines, environmental scientists, plant managers and operators, Client representatives).
· Demonstrated experience in technical quality assurance with development of high-quality deliverables, maintaining calculation and decision records.
· Excellent presentation and engineering report writing skills.
· Strong communication skills with a proven ability to forge strong trusted relationships with clients and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, both with clients and the internal team.
· Proactive and motivated, with strong self-management skills.
· A team player, focused on the development and promotion of a high functioning team.
