ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role reports to the Head of Medical Education and Innovation and is based at the Darlinghurst campus of the School of Medicine in Sydney. It ensures that contemporary, advice informs the development, delivery and assessment of the Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Domain. It will provide an evidence-based approach to the learner-centred delivery of the Domain and help build communities of practice across the dispersed campuses and clinical schools.
Responsibilities
- Leading curriculum development and review of teaching and learning materials for the PPD Domain in collaboration with the Head of Curriculum and Head of Medical Education and Innovation.
- Supporting and participating in the delivery of PPD teaching to postgraduate MD students.
- Designing and reviewing resources in conjunction with the Head of Curriculum including lectures, tutorials and course materials as required so they remain up to date and current with practice and knowledge; ensuring that changes are reflected in the PPD Domain Map.
- Designing, reviewing and marking formative and summative assessment in conjunction with the Assessment Team; and ensuring feedback to student learner.
- Leading and developing the communities of practice of clinical academics who teach and assess PPD.
- Contributing to the Professional Development and training of tutors for PPD related teaching and assessment.
- Coordinating and participating in the core Bioethics teaching and assessment together with relevant staff.
- Reviewing evaluation results and designing evaluations to strengthen the quality of delivery; ensuring responsiveness to student feedback.
- Supporting and contributing to research and projects related to the development of PPD and the delivery of the Domain.
- Chairing the PPD Domain Committee and recruiting members to this committee to provide content expertise in the evaluation of the PPD Domain curriculum.
ABOUT YOU
- Possession of a Medical or Clinical Psychology degree qualification with AHPRA registration
- A PHD in a relevant discipline area or Fellowship of a relevant professional body with equivalence in experience or standing.
- Demonstrated leadership in tertiary educational or health related setting
- Experience in teaching at Masters level or higher or in medical, health or professional practice based education settings
- Evidence of leading a team in curriculum design and implementation
