About the opportunitySouthern Cross University is seeking a highly professional and reliable Audio Visual Technician to join our supportive Technology Services team, supporting and enhancing the audio-visual services and systems delivering the University’s educational and research content for students, researchers, and partners
The Audio Visual Technician will provide technical and customer support for in-room teaching and lecture space audio-visual systems, digital streaming, multi-media and collaboration platforms, and will be adaptable and up-to-date on the changing technological and services landscape
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Undertake design, planning, programming, and configuration tasks for Audio Visual services and systems maintenance and enhancement.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to provide solution advice, training, events support, and guidance.
- Coordinate and work alongside teams to support and implement audiovisual solutions, ensuring effective collaboration and support throughout various projects and technical challenges.
- Evaluate and report on new technologies for Audio Visual service delivery.
- Ensure system security controls are implemented and maintained according to university security practices and policy.
You are a skilled and dedicated IT professional committed to enhancing the audio-visual services and systems at the University. With a solid understanding of audio-visual technologies and a passion for staying current with technological advancements, you are able to provide technical and customer support to ensure seamless delivery of educational content. In addition, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications with strong computing and Audio Visual content, plus two years’ experience in an Audio Visual and information technology environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and knowledge and training.
- Understanding of Audio Visual systems, services, and digital conferencing platforms
- Problem-solving skills for resolving complex technical and workflow issues
- Ability to work within and support a team effectively
- Organizational skills to plan, organize, and complete assigned work priorities

- Full-time, continuing (permanent)
- Located at Gold Coast, QLD 4225. Generous relocation support available.
- HEW Level 6. The base salary ranges from $88,301 - $96,849 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $113,313.
