We have an exciting new opportunity within our Queensland Team and are seeking to hire an experienced fulltime Senior Audio-Visual Technician.

In this role you will provide leadership, co-ordination cutting edge technical services for conferences, seminars, gala dinners and more. To be successful in this role you'll need to be capable of installing and operating a wide range of audio, vision, event staging, IT and lighting technologies on high profile events. As a Senior Technician you will form part of the senior production team working with the most qualified and respected AV technicians and managers.

 

About the role.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior technician, capable of installing and operating a wide range of audio, vision, IT and lighting technologies. You would ideally have a minimum of 4 years of experience working in conferencing, gala dinners, and similar corporate events/ productions, with demonstrable highly developed organisational and communication skills that allow you to lead teams with confidence.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

Administrational:

  • Managing job related paper work as per company policy.
  • Ensuring that all job related paper work is signed by the client on-site.
  • Ensuring that all additions are signed off by the client on-site and communicated to the account manager.

 

Venue Responsibilities:

  • Client Related Responsibilities:
  • Meeting and greeting of all Microhire clients on-site.
  • Acting in a professional manner at all times.
  • Prepping Phase:
  • Personally assist warehouse with the prepping of all job equipment.
  • Check and confirm that prepped equipment is correct and prep cables (24 hours out).
  • Check X-hires are complete and in working order.

 

Production Responsibilities:

  • Attend account manager/crew leader meetings.
  • Delivering all jobs within agreed time frames and costs.
  • Delivering job set-ups to meet the companies standards and clients’ expectations.
  • Ensure that on-site delivery meets clients’ objectives as presented in our proposal.
  • Monitor all project team members work flow and on-site deadlines in accordance with project timeline.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as AV Technician in the conferencing, gala dinners, and similar corporate events/ productions industry 
  • Demonstrated competency in operating audio, vision or lighting equipment
  • A solid understanding of the conferencing or staging industry.
  • Strong Audio abilities and knowledge of Digico, Sound craft, Midas and Yamaha audio consoles.
  • Knowledge of Line array setup, plot and programming.
  • Knowledge of Nexo, Adamson, JBl, L’acoustics and Bose Professional audio systems is advantageous.
  • Strong vision abilities and knowledge of Roland, Analogway and Barco vision switchers.
  • Experience with Projection blending and UHD LED walls will be beneficial.
  • Experience with Resolume, Watchout, Vmix, Adobe Suite, QLAB media software will be beneficial.
  • Strong lighting abilities and knowledge of GrandMA lighting consoles, MPU’s, networking and SACN.
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD programs, Vectorworks knowledge is preferred.
  • Direct experience operating events 4 years or more, reference checks will be done.
  • Show craft and customer service are of utmost importance.
  • Superior personal presentation
  • A valid open driver’s license
  • Rigging certification highly favourable(dogging, Basic or Intermediate)
  • EWP (Yellow card or HRWL) highly favourable
