Flexible work suited to family life
CDC Northern Territory, part of one of Australia's fastest growing and largest bus companies, is firmly focused on providing family-friendly employment for our talented vehicle maintenance workforce. Our Operations and Maintenance teams employ great family and community people who get on famously and value having a well-paid local job and work-life balance just as much as you do.
You will work by day only, and early starts are also available so you can get home to attend sports and schooling events in the afternoon. On top of full-time work, we can also offer you a four-day week option, giving you the benefit of long weekends to have extended breaks with your family and friends.
Our main depots in Berrimah and Stuart Park are exciting and vibrant multicultural workplaces bustling with energy and movement – people, buses, and coaches - covering urban, school, and charters for public transport, government, mining contracts and major events, festivals, sports, and recreational activities.
Our Greater Darwin operations are significant and specially designed so you can optimise your earning potential while striking the right balance between your work commitments and family, lifestyle, and other community interests.
Skills development
The days of heavy lifting in workshops are long gone with the hoists and the modern tools and diagnostics CDC uses. Unlike other environments, your work area is clean and spacious, allowing plenty of room to manoeuvre. Nothing matters more to us than your safety and well-being in the workplace. Any HSEQ training and development you need, we will provide.
Most of our work nowadays is servicing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse heavy vehicle fleet offering industry-leading experience. Retraining for electric vehicles will be provided. In addition to working independently without constant supervision, you will be eligible for OCE accreditation, a Working at Heights certificate and Forklift training. We also offer you the opportunity to upskill at no cost to you and will supply your uniforms, PPE and boots.
About you
CDC will consider a number of options as far as your skills and experience are concerned because we have plenty of work and lots of opportunities for you in the Northern Territory and elsewhere in other states.
Here is a snapshot of what we need from you:
- A trade qualification and experience as an Auto Electrician
- Current MR/HR licence (desirable)
- Ability to carry out vehicle inspections/maintenance (preferably in Heavy Vehicles)
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
