Job description

The Position:

The role of an Automation Technician at Geographe presents an excellent opportunity for you to utilize your innovative skills to come up with unique, practicable, and modern solutions for our production automation systems.

To be successful in this role, you have proven skills in:

  • Produce and maintain documentation associated with all our automation systems.
  • Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation for the new or developed systems Researching and developing novel ideas.
  • Trouble shoot technical issues within our onsite automated production system.
  • Industrial systems design (logic creation, product selection, testing & commissioning).
  • Sound understanding of IT infrastructure in an industrial environment.
  • Liaising with IT professionals to create technical solutions for business requirements.
  • PLC programming (experience with Allen Bradley PLC's desirable).
  • Delivering on multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment.
  • Collaborating with a diverse environment of people within the business.
  • Participating and facilitating Controls Systems cross-training.

The Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Applied Computer science, Information Systems or similar.
  • Trade Qualifications in Manufacturing or Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in a production environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of automation and control technologies including PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements with autonomous systems and control systems.
  • Ability to conduct commissioning and diagnostics of machinery systems.
  • Ability to perform calculations, engineering analysis, and product selection methodically, considering the 'bigger picture" in line with innovation evolution.
  • Ability to communicate/ present insights and recommendations to various stakeholders, in a digestible manner.
  • Strong analytical skills allowing you to identify patterns and insights to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain consistent focus when operating autonomously on projects.
  • Prior experience in CNC Machining within the manufacturing industry
  • 3d modelling software experience.
