Aviation Security Site Manager

 About the role

Due to a current promotion within the business we are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to lead our Aviation Security screening team across Darwin International and Alice Springs Airports (based in Darwin, Northern Territory). In this dynamic role, you will inspire a high performing team, manage client and stakeholder relationships and work closely with the local and national leadership teams to maximise performance across the areas of compliance, safety, efficiency and reliability. 

Duties include:

  • Ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Foresee and mitigate issues that may impact site operations and or Trident Services
  • Review current operations, and drive implementation of local and national strategic initiatives to improve service delivery and compliance
  • Monitoring, managing and reporting on performance, and proactively identifying and implementing corrective strategies where required
  • Planning and coordination of resources to ensure effective and appropriate site and roster coverage 
  • Management of staff performance, including succession planning and attendance management
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of site processes and procedures 
  • Managing employee relations and disciplinary matters on site
  • Supporting and overseeing new projects and initiatives and the introduction of new services
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with key client representatives and stakeholders 

About you

We are looking for a competent and motivated leader who ideally has experience in the Aviation Security industry, or experience in a similar role within a highly compliance-driven environment.  To be successful in the position, you will be a confident and skilled communicator, with the ability to motivate and engage your team and shape a supportive, professional and productive culture. 

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a large diverse team
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and strong computer skills
  • A calm and agile approach to managing frequently changing requirements
  • The ability to multi-task, problem solve and work well under pressure 
  • Practical knowledge of industrial relations processes including disciplinary procedures
  • The ability to identify and prioritise issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome
  • High-level interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative, and commitment

To be considered for the role, you will also need to meet the below mandatory compliance requirements:

  • Able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (criminal history clearance)
  • Able to pass Drug and Alcohol testing 
  • Full Australian working rights
