Job Description
At Nine, we're reinventing how the country consumes news, across our digital web and mobile app properties such as the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age & Australian Financial Review.
We have a brand new, modern tech stack entirely cloud-first with a fully automated, Slack integrated CI/CD DevOps environment and we need more engineers to take it to the next level.
You will be providing technical expertise across the end-to-end development including analysis, architectural design, coding, quality control, deployment, release and monitoring. You'll play a central role in delivering the product roadmap and key project milestones. You'll provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers. You will be supported to cross skill and train in DevOps and other areas of our stack.

What you'll be doing
Building cutting edge microservices using the latest technologies like Golang, gRPC, Redis, Docker, and GraphQL
Working in small autonomous Agile squads
Providing mentorship to other backend developers, particularly in Golang space
Upskilling across DevOps, React and other areas of our stack.
Our technology stack includes React, Golang, Typescript, NodeJS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, GCP, Concourse, CI/CD, Slack, Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch
Qualifications
We invest heavily in the continuous development of our people, so you will need to be someone who is open to new ideas and is motivated by learning new things. You will also enjoy working collaboratively across the team and the organisation and be able to share creative ideas in a professional and constructive way.
We're looking for individuals with
Strong, proven quality focused engineering skills
Experience designing APIs using microservice architecture
Experience building and deploying solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms
Real passion for mentoring and sharing ideas
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
