BAKER & PASTRY CHEF - THE KAUPHY PLACE , WILLETTON
Join our team at The Kauphy Place, a renowned Indian restaurant located at 139 High Road, Willetton. We are proud to offer a diverse selection of traditional and homestyle dishes from various regions of South India, highlighting authentic flavors and specialties. We are excited to introduce and expand our menu to include Asian bakery section and are currently looking for full-time experienced Pastry Cooks, Chefs, and Bakers to join our passionate team.
Salary range: $70000 AUD to $85000 AUD + super
Position: Baker / Pastry Chef (FULL TIME)
Contract Duration: 2 years
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and produce a wide variety of baked foods such as cakes, cookies, pies, muffins, Puffs, Croissants/Danish, breads, Pies, rolls etc., following traditional Asian and modern recipes.
• Able to develop, designs and create new ideas and items for the business
• Manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen
• Maintain a lean and professional work environment and adhere to health and safety
• Ensuring food quality and taste consistency.
• Managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies.
• Collaborating with the management & team to meet business and customer service goals.
• Training and supervising junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Adapting to busy environments and maintaining high performance under pressure.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Relevant qualifications in hotel management, Pastry or culinary arts.
• Good knowledge and understanding of different types of pastry, breads, dessert, cake decorating.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings.
