We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Banking and Finance Lawyer to join our client’s prestigious law firm based in Brisbane. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Banking and Finance law, demonstrating a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape governing financial institutions and transactions.

- Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of Banking and Finance matters, including loan agreements, securities, project finance, and structured finance
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex financial documents and agreements such as facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and guarantees
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance issues related to financial services
- Represent clients in negotiations and disputes related to Banking and Finance transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of financial transactions
- Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate finance activities
- Stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends affecting the Banking and Finance sector
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; admission as a solicitor in Queensland
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Banking and Finance law, ideally within a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team
- In-depth knowledge of Australian Banking and Finance regulations and standards
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex financial transactions
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Postgraduate qualifications in Banking and Finance law or related fields
- Experience with cross-border transactions and international banking regulations
- Familiarity with fintech and emerging technologies in the financial sector
