Job Overview
A charming cafe at the Darwin Waterfront is looking for a dedicated and experienced Bar Attendant Supervisor. This role requires ensuring that customers are served in a professional and timely manner, supervising junior staff, and maintaining the cleanliness of the work area.
Main Duties
Supervision and Training:
- Supervising and training food and beverage attendants of a lower grade.
- Ensuring junior staff adhere to service standards and procedures.
Customer Service:
- Taking reservations, greeting, and seating guests.
- Undertaking general waiting duties.
- Preparing and mixing a range of coffee and other signature drinks.
- Taking drink orders, preparing garnishes, and cleaning bar areas.
- Responding to customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Promoting the employer’s services and facilities to customers when appropriate.
- Ensuring the work area complies with the highest standards of cleanliness.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Receipt and dispensing of all monies.
- Reconciliation of transactions.
General Duties:
- Cleaning tables, picking up glasses, and maintaining the care of glasses and equipment.
- Practicing proper workplace health and safety procedures.
- Performing other incidental and peripheral duties as requested by the employer.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with customers and fellow staff.
- Obey directions from your employer.
- Work cooperatively and show respect and understanding of others.
Essential Requirements:
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification.
Selection Criteria:
1. Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and training junior food and beverage staff.
- Proven ability to take reservations, greet, and seat guests efficiently.
- Experience in preparing and mixing a variety of coffee and signature drinks.
- Previous experience in managing financial transactions and reconciliation.

- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Ability to respond to customer requests professionally and promptly.
- Experience in promoting services and facilities to customers.
3. Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

- Knowledge and practice of proper workplace health and safety procedures.
