As a key member of the In-Market Brands (IMB) team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the BD&L strategy, identifying opportunities for growth, and maximizing the value of our dynamic portfolio.

The IMB portfolio consists of over 60+ molecules across 7+ therapeutic areas and accounts for almost half of Novartis sales. We are looking for someone with a relentless hunter mindset, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

Your Responsibilities:

• Set, communicate, and implement the Australia IMB BD&L strategy to drive growth and maximize portfolio value.
• Understand the specific needs across products in the IMB portfolio and identify key external capabilities and strategic alignment with vendors and suppliers in the market.
• Conduct lead generation and pipeline management of new opportunities across the portfolio, ensuring internal stakeholder management.
• Assess and validate BD&L project strategic value, financials, and NPV creation.
• Lead the development and preparation of financial models and business cases for local and regional approval.
• Design, assess, and proactively manage the risks related to deals.
• Evaluate market insights and research to assess the viability of opportunities.
• Adopt an agile approach to pivot with strategic direction depending on the stage of the lifecycle of brands and commercial opportunities.
• Leverage external relationships for market and competitive intelligence to shape and inform IMB commercial decisions.
• This position may require up to 20% travel.

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree, MBA, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5+ years of sales, consulting, and/or BD&L experience in the pharmaceutical industry, OTC or generics.
• Experience in commercial roles including marketing, sales, and/or finance with an important negotiating component.
• Strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase business value and profit.
• Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Proven learning agility in a fast-paced working environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a strong ability to manage and develop business relationships.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
