THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Beef Cattle Farmer to oversee all aspects of breeding and raising livestock. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of the livestock, managing farming operations, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Breeding and raising livestock for the production of meat.
2. Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of livestock.
3. Providing pastures and fodder to maintain appropriate nutritional levels.
4. Moving livestock to optimising feeding opportunities.
5. Organising and conducting farming operations such as catching, drenching, and milking livestock, sterilizing machines, and collecting, grading, and packaging produce.
6. Directing and overseeing general farming activities such as maintaining  fertilising, controlling pests and weeds, and growing fodder.
7. Maintaining fences, equipment, and water supply systems.
8. Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities, monitoring market activity, and planning production accordingly.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in livestock farming and management.
2. Knowledge of breeding techniques, animal health, and nutrition.
3. Excellent record-keeping and data management abilities.
4. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
• Knowledge of sustainable and ethical farming practices.
