Behaviour Support Clinician

  • Salary field: $85k+ (depending on experience) + Superannuation

Our client has an exciting opportunity for experienced Behaviour Supportclinicians to evaluate, develop and deliver evidence-based support plans within a complex support space. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that individual plans reflect the passions and interests of NDIS participants and promote their quality of life. You will also build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of all those who are important to the participant. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, develop, and implement individualised, person-centred interventions for people with behavioural and complex needs across a diverse range of diagnoses
  • Have an understanding and experience with evidence-based implementation strategies that support personnel have utilised to reduce behaviours of concern across multiple locations
  • Track and analyse behaviours through reports such as functional behavioural assessments, ABC, and frequency charts
  • Provide training and guidance to implementing providers and support personnel to implement and promote best practice in service delivery
  • Identify restrictive practices and develop plans to reduce and eliminate them in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines
  • Contribute your experience and knowledge to the development of innovative practices and programs, for the betterment of your peers and the organisation.
  • Be formally registered with the NDIS Quality Safeguarding Commission as a PBS Practitioner, and committing to a continuance of your professional development.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must be an experienced and passionate practitioner with a degree-level qualification as an allied health professional (OT/Speech/Social Work/Psychology/Education) and at least 6 months working as a BSP. Additionally, you must have:

  • Core, Proficient and Advanced status as an NDIS Behavior Support Practitioner
  • Registration as a practitioner with NDIS
  • Demonstrated experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviors
  • Demonstrated experience in being a collaborative team member and developing & delivering positive behavior support service
  • First Aid (Senior) (or willing to attain before gaining employment)
  • Criminal history check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS New Worker Induction Module
  • NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Module
  • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect - Education and Care training (masterclass) (RRHAN-EC) (May have different titles in other states)
