Healthstyles Clinic is a leading Tasmanian registered NDIS provider. We are continuing to grow and are seeking to appoint a new Behaviour Practitioner to our Launceston office to meet demand in the region.
The role is well suited to Social Workers and Allied Health practitioners, and is also a great fit for experienced Educators / AST's looking for a change away from the classroom.
What is the role?
We are seeking a practitioner to provide general therapy and Positive Behaviour Support to our participants. Working full time or part time with a range of stakeholders, we develop specialised plans to identify strategies to improve communication skills and quality of life for our participants.
Our practitioners:
- Work with a variety of stakeholders to understand participant's situations and assist them to develop the skills they need
- Conduct functional behaviour observations and assessments for NDIS clients both at the clinic and out in the field
- Develop and implement evidence-based positive Behaviour Support plans and prepare reports in line with NDIS requirements
- Provide training for families and support services to implement plans and strategies
- Liaise with participants, staff and other stakeholders
The successful candidate may also be able to provide other general therapy services to our participants and customers based on the qualifications and skills they bring to the role.
What can you bring to the role?
To be considered for this opportunity you must have:
- Desire to learn about and apply positive Behaviour Support services and methods to fuel transformative changes for our client
- Experience working with people with disability, their families and supports in a meaningful way
- The ability to work independently to manage a clinical caseload and develop reports and programs
- Strong observational, research and communication skills
- Undergraduate or post-graduate Social Work or other relevant Allied Health or Education degree
- Membership or eligibility to be a member of a professional body such as Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or similar
- A current working with vulnerable people registration to ability to gain
