The Child Development Institute is an AUTISM SPECIFIC Early Intervention centre for children aged 2 – 5 years. They deliver the Early Start Denver Model, an evidence-based and manualised multi-disciplinary intervention specifically developed for young children with autism. The ESDM integrates ABA, Pivotal Response Training, and the Denver model into a naturalistic intervention for the development of speech, language, social skills, and cognition. It has many research studies and gold standard clinical trials to demonstrate its effectiveness.
About the Role:
- Act as a Key Worker with a multi-disciplinary team of allied health, special education, and early childhood teachers
- Manage your own caseload
- Delivery therapy across a range of 1:1 and group programs to children and families
- Receive ongoing professional training to deliver therapy as an ESDM Therapist
- Receive ongoing learning from other Allied Health disciplines and Special Education Teachers within the team
- Energy and passion for life and for working with children
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Creative thinking with the ability to adapt to different children’s learning styles
- An ability to work well both within a team and independently
- A high degree of motivation and commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice
- High level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build a strong rapport with children and their families

You will require:
- A tertiary qualification, in Occupational Therapy, Developmental Education, Psychological Science, Health Science or Social Work
- A NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check
- A current first aid certificate, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certification or be willing to obtain this
