We now have an exciting opportunity for experienced Belt Splicers to join our high-performing Branch on a 7/7 roster for the foreseeable future assisting in the maintenance of one of our biggest customer sites.
This opportunity is open to those who are just starting out in their Belt Splicing career or those who are looking to take the next step and Level-UP! There are various opportunities available now!
Insight into the day-to-day:
Reporting directly to our Site Supervisors, this role will see you:
- Assisting on shutdowns with planned belt changes
- Responding to breakdowns
- Belt Splicing and Installations of conveyor belts - fabric, ply, solid woven, or steel – cord. As well as removal and replacement
- Hot and cold repairs
- Mapping and marking out splices; Construct vulcaniser press on site and vulcanizes a splice throughout the whole process
- Equipment and Shutdown preparation
- Identify common belt damages/ faults and determine method of repair
- Conduct belt audits
- Assist with creating splice reports
- Participate in and sign off on JSA’s; safety observations or toolbox discussions

- Proven knowledge and experience working in mining as a Belt Splicer (Conveyor System Technician). Ability to perform high-integrity splices.
- Certificate III or II in Polymer Processing. Whilst not essential, those with extensive experience are encouraged to apply, as we can formalise your knowledge as a registered RTO!
- Skills and knowledge to splice steel cord and fabric conveyor belts
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Experience underground or willingness to go underground
- Current QLD Coal Board Medical or ability to successfully obtain (Company recovered)
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Valid driver’s license and high-risk work license
- Desirable Tickets but not required: MR Driver’s license, Forklift, Dogging, Rigging, WAH, CS
