Your New Role

You'll play a pivotal role shaping and implementing the BI and Analytics practice at Australian Ethical. Your focus will be on transforming extensive, diverse data sources into visually compelling insights which play a crucial role in informing business decisions, shaping business strategy and optimising overall performance. You'll work collaboratively within the Data team, as well as the broader business to bring data to life!

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and maintain sophisticated data models to support reporting and analysis, ensuring data models are optimised for performance and scalability

• Design and implement a robust BI and Analytics practice aligned with organisational goals, establishing best practices for data analysis, modelling, and visualisation

• Create visually impactful dashboards and reports to communicate complex data effectively, implementing interactive and user-friendly visualisations for enhanced data understanding

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating business requirements into effective data visualisations and reporting solutions

• Apply advanced analytics techniques for predictive modelling and data forecasting, exploring innovative approaches to uncover hidden insights within the data

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the entire BI and Analytics process, implement measures to validate and maintain data quality standards

• Document data models, visualisation designs, and processes for transparency and replicability including maintaining documentation to facilitate collaboration and knowledge transfer

• Monitor the performance of BI solutions and make optimisations as necessary, conducting regular assessments to ensure the efficiency of data models and visualisations

• Provide support to users in understanding and navigating BI tools and reports

• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and data visualization

• Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements

What we're looking for

You're a passionate BI professional with a demonstrated track record developing and building out BI and analytics capability in financial services. You're confident engaging a range of stakeholders to understand and prioritise requirements, implementing them in dashboards and automating where possible. If you are a collaborative, creative thinker and have most the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• 5+ years working on BI platforms and reporting solutions - Power BI essential

• 3+ years' experience working in a similar role in Financial Services, preferably funds management and/or superannuation

• Proven track record designing, building, and managing BI and analytics capability within an organisation from requirements gathering through to implementation

• Demonstrated ability to turning large amounts of disparate data sources into actionable insights that supports decision making, informs business strategy and supports growth

• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across a business with competing priorities to effectively manage a backlog of requirements

• Practical experience using Python for data manipulation, analysis, and integration within BI workflows. Ability to script and automate processes for enhanced BI capabilities

• Experience designing, architecting, and delivering a modern data architecture

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
