About the position
The Healthy Ageing at Home program aims to support older people to live at home for longer through early intervention initiatives that promote healthy ageing and the ongoing management of chronic conditions, reducing the need for people to enter residential aged care.
The Bilingual Community Educator will deliver health education programs and capacity building workshops to multicultural communities in the Liverpool and Fairfield region.
Working to improve the knowledge and skills of older people and their families/carers, the Bilingual Community Educator will conduct online and face to face workshops and help to facilitate linkages between the Local Health District, general practitioners, non-government organisations and community service providers. These health education sessions will be delivered in the relevant community language.
This is a casual position (up to 15 hours per week), working out of our Liverpool hub.

We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated fluency and ability to read and write in English and a community language/ languages relevant to the demographic (Arabic or Vietnamese highly regarded, or other community languages).
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in community development, education, health, or welfare fields
- Demonstrated knowledge of chronic conditions and healthy ageing initiatives.
- Experience in the planning and delivery of both face-to-face and online educational workshops, and community co-design sessions.
