Job DescriptionAbout the role
The BIOC Senior Family Support Specialist will work with families who are engaged in the BiOC Midwifery Hub to empower and build their agency to make effective change and overcome their identified family challenges, specifically relating to interactions with Child Safety. The role is partially outreach based, engaging families in their homes and within the hub setting, translating initial engagement into a strong ongoing partnership. Once engaged, the BIOC Senior Family Support Specialist will work on assisting families to develop insight into their history and current family challenges to self-identify their key challenges and lead their own change. The BIOC Senior Family Support Specialist will act as an advocate for families and assist in understanding concerns, legislation, and Child Safety processes to reduce or eliminate Child Safety interventions.
In addition, the BIOC Senior Family Support Specialist will take a leadership role in the team by mentoring assigned Family Support Workers to help improve their practice efficacy and build their knowledge and application of brief therapeutic counselling skills. The BIOC Senior Family Support Specialist will also lead case management reviews with Family Support Workers, ensuring fidelity to the program model of care. The role will also provide ad-hoc case guidance and support to team members.
Duties
1. Performance: Meet individual case performance targets as per weekly, monthly and quarterly dashboard system.
2. Practice: Provide high quality and intent-based practice in all interactions with clients, consistent with the ATSICHS values and vision.
3. Case Management: Provide high quality case management practices and record keeping that adhere to operational requirements.
4. Engagement: Demonstrate positive and warm engagement through an assertive outreach approach that engages clients into the service.
5. Client-Led Assessment and Care Plan: Facilitate a client-led assessment and Care Plan to identify the client’s goals, including the entire family, where appropriate.
6. Role Specific Targeted Interventions and Facilitated Family Group Meetings: Provide role-specific targeted interventions and family facilitated group meetings in achieving client goals.
7. Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems and MobNet tasks.
8. Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

Benefits
- Base salary starts from $90,677 per annum plus 11% superannuation.

Essential
Qualification and/or Experience:
Current Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 2 years’ relevant experience in Family Support, child protection, youth support or related field
OR
Current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 3 years’ relevant experience in Family Support, child protection, youth support or related field
AND
With at least 1 years of above mentioned experience in a case management role.
Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with Child Safety legislation and frameworks
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the factors contributing to vulnerability, disengagement, and intergenerational trauma of client group
Demonstrated ability to build client agency, self-efficacy and facilitate change through client empowerment.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide behaviour change interventions that build client self-awareness and active change in achieving their identified goals.
Demonstrated ability to work with the whole-of-family, irrespective of primary client, in meeting the totality of family needs.
Demonstrated ability in coordinating multiple services in providing access to holistic care for clients, particularly integrating internal agency supports across multiple teams.
Demonstrated ability and comfortableness working in a performance driven environment to meet individual weekly, monthly and quarterly performance targets.
Experience with case management for high risk and/or crisis clients, with high-level planning and organisational skills.
Knowledge of the supports available to target clients in the areas of mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, and housing.
Experience in mentoring staff
Additional Requirements:
Requirement to travel across the Logan and/or Brisbane region, as per program location.
Current drivers’ licence
Flexibility to work outside 8:30am-5pm business hours in meeting individual client needs and provide responsive care.
