About the business

Hawkesbury River County Council is a local government organisation that covers one-third of the Greater Sydney area. About the role

You will perform weed inspections, surveillance, and the implement the Biosecurity Act 2015 for weeds over an area of 3,800km2. You will utilise a GIS system to assist you in recording information and data whilst work as an Authorised Officer delegated authority. You will educate the community about weeds and guide landowners to achieve better land management outcomes. You will record your results and achievements regularly.

You MUST address the following “Essential Criteria” in the Cover Letter of your application:

  • Demonstrated current knowledge of the identification of weeds and integrated weed management techniques.
  • Proven experience with a wide range of weed identification, control strategy, and techniques.
  • Conservation & Land Management Cert III or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.
  • Can effectively use mobile mapping technology to record weeds, inspections, and generate reports as required.
  • Can collect / manage data and generate reports.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision in highly organised manner.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
